Global Prayer for Revival 2023: A Call to Prayer for a Spiritual Awakening with Steven Lee

Steven Lee

Hello, for those who don’t know who I am, my name is Steven Lee. I’m the founder of SermonAudio.com. Today, I’d like to endorse the Global Prayer for Revival happening on October 3rd and 4th, 2023. This event aims to unite God’s people across denominational lines around the world to seek God’s outpouring Spirit.

In the current global scenario, believers have enough reasons to be grieved. We’re witnessing the moral decline of Western societies and a blatant, vicious rejection of God and His Word. What then should Christians do when faced with such opposition? The Bible instructs us that when the enemy invades like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will rise against him. That’s what we’re praying for—an outpouring of God’s Spirit—because our warfare is not carnal but spiritual.

Too often, Christians resort to physical solutions for spiritual problems. While electing the right officials and enacting laws are important, they don’t address the root issue—the human heart, which is a cesspool of wickedness. Our weapons must be spiritual, and as the Bible assures us, they are mighty for tearing down strongholds.

The Global Prayer for Revival is a call to Christians to earnestly seek God for revival. A few years ago, we published a book called “A Case for United Prayer.” It includes Jonathan Edwards’ historical effort to gather Christians for collective prayer for revival. Titled “An Humble Attempt to Promote Explicit Agreement and Visible Union of God’s People,” Edwards called for extraordinary prayer—prayer that goes above and beyond our routine prayers—for the revival of religion and Christ’s Kingdom on Earth.

If you are disturbed by the state of society and its creeping influence even within the Church, I urge you to participate in this global prayer initiative. Let’s join hands in crying out to God, not just on October 3rd and 4th but continually. As Isaiah 62:7 instructs, give the Lord no rest until He reigns righteousness on Earth. Remember the promise in the Scriptures: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven.” God bless you.
